Taupo Camp 2013

Last Tuesday I went on camp to Taupo until Friday. Every activity that we done was an outdoor activity. On Tuesday when we arrived there we set our cabins up then went on a really long bush walk to Huka Falls!! Since it was a really hot day and we were all tired from the big walk, on the way back to the camp site we got to have a swim at AC Baths!! Huka Falls was so loud, and the water was rushing straight past us faster than a click of your fingers. Also AC Baths had a bombing zone and two hydro slides! I loved the hydro slides, most the time that I was there I played on the hydro slides. And it's like the only place you can actually bomb!!

On Wednesday we went to a place called Action World, were you climb and jump onto and off a lot of different things. If you fall it's Ok because you would just fall onto big stunt bags. I liked a castle were you had to hop into a sack and then fly down this big slide!!
Action World. (This is my favorite castle/Activity to do.)

On Thursday we were split into four groups and then went and done four different activities. The first thing I done was rock climbing at AC Baths. I climbed and easy rock wall, then another easy one a couple of times, and then one that was quite hard. The harder one was step shaped and nobody had made it over the first big step. I was the first person to get to the top of that rock wall and also one of the highest people on one of the easier ones. My second rotation was Orienteering, We had to find heaps of posts stuck in the ground without a compass, just a map. My group found everything that we needed to find with the help from my Dad. Then we went Rafting through little rapids and we played games with our rafts. Also we were aloud to jump out of the raft and have a swim at Taupo hot springs. That's were the thermal from under the ground heats up the lake water making it as warm as a spa. And our last activity was mountain biking. I was in the front of the pack all the way. The track was really bumpy so it made it a little harder and there was quite a lot of hills. Quite a lot of people fell off their bikes and I was one of them! I just have a bruise on my knee hat's all!!

Thursday was our last day so in the morning we had to tidy our rooms and pack all our stuff into our cars. Then on the way home we stopped for a fish at Prawn Park. Prawn Park is where there are 19 pools full of prawns and people are aloud to fish for them, You can take them home. We got a private tour of the park, and got to feed baby prawns and also look at the parks biggest prawn, His name is Shawn.
After we were aloud to fish for prawns except I didn't catch any. I had a few bites but didn't catch one.
Taupo camp was the best camp I've been on. Everything was so much more fun this year. We even got to do a skit, The winning skit was a group of boy. My Dad was even selected to come on camp!! I'll never forget camp 2013.
